Overview:
Thermoplastic polyurethanes elastomer (TPU) is a new synthetic polymer material, which can be produced to adhesives, coating and films, and widely used in automation interior, shoe making, clothing, ink, and furniture and toy industry.
Generally, the TPU synthesis is by solution polymerization, reactor post hardening, conveyer batch bulk polymerization or continuous bulk polymerization by use of twin screw extruder process. In which the solution polymerization and post hardening process are being eliminated because of their environment pollution and lower product quality. The current conveyer batch bulk polymerization because of its lower productivity and narrow suitability is not competitive with the continuous bulk polymerization twin screw extruder process. Which has the advantage of continuous reaction, mixing, extrusion granulate compacted together to guarantee the product uniformity and production efficacy, easily for auto control and suitable for large scale production, is the most advanced TPU production process.
